3 injured after car crash in Gem County

The southbound lane was closed for nearly three hours while crews worked to clear the accident.

BOISE, Idaho — Three people were taken to the hospital after a car crash in Gem County Saturday, south of Emmett.

At approximately 1:08 p.m., a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by a 51-year-old Middleton man was traveling north on Little Freezeout road when, according to Idaho State Police (ISP), he passed over the median line into the southbound lane and struck a 2000 Jeep Cherokee head-on. 

Three people, all juveniles, were traveling in the Jeep. All but one of the occupants were taken to a local hospital by ground ambulance.

The driver of the Dodge Caravan was also taken by ambulance to a hospital.

The southbound lane was closed for nearly three hours while crews worked to clear the accident. ISP is investigating the crash.
