Caldwell Police looking for vandals

Police said several newly constructed houses were vandalized, one has an estimated $10,000 in damages.

CALDWELL, Idaho — Several newly constructed homes were vandalized in Caldwell. According to the Caldwell Police Department (CPD), the latest incident happened on Mar. 17 around 2 a.m., the homes were in the area of Smugglers Basin Street, seven homes were damaged.

Police said they found one home that had damages estimated to be $10,000, when they arrived water was coming out of the front and garage door. Police believe that a suspect, or suspects, opened a washer hookup valve and left it running. 

CPD said other homes in the area have had windows broken and doors kicked in. 

Police are asking anyone with information to call non-emergency dispatch at 208-454-7531.
