Boise State to play Colorado in First Four of NCAA Tournament

Boise State will head to Dayton to face off with Colorado in the First Four games of the NCAA Tournament.

BOISE, Idaho — The Selection Show for March Madness unveiled Boise State as a 10-seed that will head to Dayton to play Colorado in the First Four games of the NCAA Tournament.

The Broncos and Buffaloes will square off inside UD Arena at 7:10 p.m. MT on Wednesday, March 20. This marks the second-ever meeting between the two programs, with the first coming in the Myrtle Beach Invitational in November 2022.

Boise State was expected to earn a spot in the field without having to play in the First Four, touting six Quad 1 wins, a 22-10 overall record and 13 victories in the Mountain West – a six-bid league.

Head coach Leon Rice and Co. were projected to be between a No. 7 seed and No. 9 seed, landing at No. 26 in the NET Rankings on Selection Sunday.

Regardless, Boise State is back in March Madness for the third-straight year for the first time in history. The Broncos are one of just 25 teams in the nation to make the tournament in each of the last three seasons.

Colorado enters the matchup following an impressive run in the Pac-12 Tournament. The Buffaloes fell to Oregon 75-68 in the championship game after wins over Utah and nationally-ranked Washington State.

The winner of Wednesday's contest will travel to Indianapolis to take on No. 7 Florida in the Round of 64. The first round game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. MT Friday on TBS.
