LAS VEGAS — One of the most anticipated men's basketball tournaments in recent Mountain West history has lived up to the hype of a potential six-bid league through two days.

The quarterfinals saw three of the top-four seeds get bounced from Las Vegas, and No. 1 Utah State needed overtime to get past No. 9 Fresno State. The Aggies, who came in at No. 18 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, face No. 5 San Diego State on Friday for a spot in the championship game.

No. 3 Boise State fell in Thursday's night cap to No. 6 New Mexico, marking its first quarterfinal loss since 2021 and first defeat in three matchups with the Lobos this season. The Broncos now await Selection Sunday to learn their NCAA Tournament fate, touting six Quad 1 wins and a 22-10 overall record.

New Mexico squares off with No. 7 Colorado State in the semifinals. The Rams upset second-seeded and 23rd-ranked Nevada on Thursday, snapping the Wolf Pack's seven-game winning streak and sending them back to Reno early.
