BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Police Department (BPD) has arrested 21-year-old Isaiah Maestas from Boise and charged him with multiple felonies. The arrest stems from an incident on Dec. 11 when police responded to shots being fired at an apartment complex on Five Mile Road.
"A preliminary investigation showed that the suspect, Isaiah Maestas, used a firearm to threaten two female victims after a verbal domestic dispute with one of the victims. Evidence also shows Maestas discharged a firearm into the ceiling. During further investigation officers also found Maestas to be in possession of numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia, a digital scale, and a large amount of cash," a news release stated.
Maestas was booked in the Ada County Jail and charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault, felony enhancement for use of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony, felony unlawful discharge of a firearm and felony possession of a controlled substance.
"The Boise Police Department takes all acts of domestic violence seriously. If you or a loved one is experiencing domestic violence, please reach out to police or other support providers so we can work together toward a safe solution," said Lieutenant Corey Smith. "Intervention is the best way to end the cycle of domestic violence and keep victims safe."
