Caldwell woman dies after being struck by car

The 46-year-old woman was walking along Kimball Avenue when she was hit by a car driven by a 19-year-old man from Caldwell, according to police.

CALDWELL, Idaho — A 46-year-old woman from Caldwell died Sunday after being hit by a car as she was walking near the roadway.

The crash happened on S. Kimball Avenue near Felton Street in Canyon County. At around 7:05 p.m. Sunday, a 19-year-old man from Caldwell was traveling northbound on Kimball when he struck the woman who was walking on the side of the road, according to Idaho State Police (ISP).

The man was driving a 2013 Nissan Rogue. He was uninjured in the crash.

The woman was transported to the hospital, where ISP said she died from her injuries.

Traffic on Kimball Avenue was blocked for approximately two and a half hours, while emergency crews cleared the scene.

ISP is investigating the incident.
