Krispy Kreme event helps raise funds for daughters of Meridian shooting victims

The Meridian Krispy Kreme will be offering free doughnuts and drinks to raise money to help the daughters that lost their parents in the deadly shooting.

MERIDIAN, Idaho — This week the Treasure Valley community has a chance to help the young girls that were involved in the double-murder-suicide that happened in Meridian on Jan. 6.

On Wednesday, the Krispy Kreme in Meridian, off of Eagle Road and Fairview Avenue, will be serving free doughnuts and drinks from 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., collecting donations that will go towards helping the Paul and Heidi DeLeon Benefit Fund. 100 percent of donations will help the daughters who lost their parents in the shooting.

Jose and Heidi DeLeon were both shot and killed by Edward Epps Jr. before turned the gun on himself.

Three children were in the home during the shooting. Two of the girls were daughters of Epps and Heidi DeLeon, the third was from a previous marriage.
