'Just want to help the family': Restaurant gives 100% of Sunday sales to fallen Deputy's wife

Over 600 burgers were sold and the business donated $7,388 to the family.

BOISE, Idaho — It was a day for remembrance, support and community. The lines at both Sid's Garage locations in Boise and Meridian were longer than usual on Sunday. That's because the restaurant is donating 100% of their burger sales to slain Idaho Deputy Tobin Bolter's wife.

The fundraiser sold 600 burgers and the business donated $7,388 to the family.

Owner Will Primavera said one of the core principles of the company is to support emergency personnel, military and law enforcement.

"So, for us, it really hits home. As soon as we found out about this, it was what can we do for the family? How much could we give to the family? How could we really help them the most?," he said.

Primavera decided to help in the best way he could, by using his restaurants, and that income, to support Bolter's family.

He said the support from the community today was amazing.

"We've always been blessed to get a ton of support from this community that gives so much to us that we try to give back to them," Primavera said. "But as soon as we posted about it, it really went viral. For example, today, when we opened the doors, we were already on an almost hour wait. So, it's been something that's warmed our heart, this has been fantastic."

Two of those patrons that came to support the deputy are Dave and Susanne Thames.

"We just thought it was important to come down and show support anyway we can to the family," Susanne said.

"Supporting law enforcement, especially at a time like this, is necessary," said Dave. "We hope more people get down here and eat some food and show support."

All of the profits from Sunday go directly to Bolter's wife.

"100% of the burger proceeds, we're going to rally it up and tally it up, I guess you would say by the end of the day, and then we're actually going directly to ICCU where there's an account and we're going to put it right into her account, the family's account," said Primavera.

He also wanted to tell the family, even though they have never met, "we love you."

"The people in the valley mean the world to us. Thank you for not only supporting us, but more importantly always rallying which makes this community so great. We love you guys," Primavera said.

Additionally, the Ada County Sheriff's Office said it has been overwhelmed by the support of the community. If people would like to donate directly to the families of fallen Deputy Tobin Bolter or injured Deputy Dallas Denney the ACSO offers the following options. Please specify to which deputy the donation should be directed to.
