BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Gives kicks off on Monday, a special program from the Idaho Nonprofit center to bring the state of Idaho together. It runs April 29 - May 2.
An organic set of campaigns for great groups all across the state, and an opportunity to see how your giving impacts the causes you care about most.
This week on KTVB Viewpoint, Kevin Bailey, CEO of the Idaho Nonprofit center, joins the show.
Bailey discussed the upcoming event, the scope and scale of it, and how big of a difference your donations make. More than a decade after the first Idaho Gives, the dollar amounts and impact are impressive. For non-profits big and small.
"This is the 12th year. It's been going on for 11 years prior to this. It's raised $23.6 million over the previous 11 years, and it's really our opportunity to lift up the great work that non-profits all over the state are doing. So we have 650 organizations participating this year, which is right on par with the last number of years. Everybody from large organizations like the Idaho Food Bank all the way down to all volunteer organizations in every corner of the state. You know, nearly every county is represented and all types of mission areas. So it's just the celebration of all the great work that nonprofits are doing in the state and our chance to lift them up and to introduce them to new donors, which is really key and really important for their missions," Bailey said.
