The daily forecast from Idaho's largest, most experienced team of meteorologists.

BOISE, Idaho — WHAT | A storm system marching across the region triggered heavy rain before sunrise and will keep blustery winds and unsettled conditions in play for the rest of the day. While winds aren't expected to reach advisory levels, they could toss around light unsecured outdoor items and will keep a chill in the air throughout the day. Thunderstorms could also put a damper on midday and afternoon activities as lightning, rain, hail and wind are all possible with these storms.

WHEN11am-4pm: Thunderstorm development is possible and anticipated across eastern Oregon and SW Idaho. Storms will be spotty in nature and could produce gusty outflow winds, small hail, and bursts of rain.
12pm-sunset: Northwest winds will intensify, gusting up to 40mph and strongest east of Boise into the Magic Valley. Unsecured items and weak tree limbs may get tossed around.
Overnight-Thursday morning: Snow levels drop to 4,500', with light accumulating snow possibly sticking to roadways around mountain towns like McCall, Stanley and Sun Valley. Up to 6" of snow possible in the highest peaks above 7,000' in Idaho's central mountains.

NEED | Keep an eye on the sky and be ready to duck inside if you hear rumbles of thunder and/or see a thunderstorm developing near you. "When thunder roars, head indoors." Tuck loose patio items like pillows or small potted plants up close to the house or bring them indoors to protect them from wind gusts. Keep windows closed to prevent rain and dust from getting into your home or vehicle.
