Roosevelt Street to close on the Boise Bench

The street will be shut down for a month for underground utility work.

BOISE, Idaho — A residential street on the Boise Bench will be closed for a month as crews continue an improvement project in the area, according to the Ada County Highway District.

Roosevelt Street will be closed between Bethel and Alpine streets beginning Monday for underground utility work. The closure is set to end March. 21. 

Sidewalks will be open to pedestrians to allow access to Morris Hill Park.

Drivers are asked to use Garden Street or Latah during the construction. Detour signs will be in place.

The construction, part of the Roosevelt, Rose Hill to Emerald Street Project, is aimed at improving pedestrian and bicyclist connectivity and safety for children walking and biking to area schools.  

"ACHD would like to thank commuters and residents for their patience as these ACHD works to make these improvements," the department wrote in a release.
