BOISE — The Boise State football team will play Boston College in the Servpro First Responder Bowl at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday, December 26, the university announced Sunday afternoon.

The game will kickoff at 11:30 a.m. MT and will air on ESPN.

Boston College is 7-5 overall and 4-4 in conference play in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Eagles only played the Broncos in the 2005 MPC Computers Bowl in then-Bronco Stadium. Boston College won 27-21, led by Matt Ryan, the current Atlanta Falcons quarterback.

This marks the 17th straight season that the Broncos have played in a bowl game. They are 12-6 all-time in the postseason since joining the FBS ranks in 1996. That includes a 34-31 victory over TCU in the Fort Worth Bowl in 2003, the only other time Boise State has played a bowl game in Texas.

Boise State (10-3) won the Mountain West's Mountain Division but lost to Fresno State in the Mountain West Championship Game, 19-16 in overtime Saturday on the Blue.

Had the Broncos won, they would have secured the conference’s automatic berth to the Las Vegas Bowl for a second straight season.

The Servpro First Responder Bowl has been around since 2011. The previous title sponsors include TicketCity (2011-12), PlainsCapital Bank (2013) and Zaxby's (2014-17).

Last year, Utah beat West Virginia 30-14 in front of 20,507 fans. The only other Mountain West school to appear in the Servpro First Responder Bowl was UNLV in 2013.

The Rebels lost to North Texas, 36-14.
