BOISE, Idaho — Two new squads entered their classifications respective rankings on Thursday in the Idaho high school girls basketball state media poll. The latest breakdown of leaders at each level comes with district tournaments underway across the Gem State.
Shelley stands alone as the only remaining undefeated team in Idaho. The Russets are a perfect 20-0 and were picked as the unanimous No. 1 in the 4A rankings Thursday for the fifth consecutive week.
Also in the 4A classification, Bishop Kelly leapfrogged Jerome to claim the No. 4 spot after winning six-straight games in Southern Idaho Conference play. The 5A rankings went unchanged this week, with Lake City leading the way, followed by Boise.
The 2A and 1A DI rankings included the same teams this week as last. McCall-Donnelly entered the 3A poll Thursday following consecutive wins over Homedale, Parma and Weiser.
Also entering the rankings this week is Leadore (1A DII), who touts a 17-3 overall record. This year's Idaho high school girls basketball state championships tip off Feb. 15 and run through Feb. 17.
