Ada, Canyon County officials take oath of office

It was the start of a new term of office for elected officials.

BOISE, Idaho — The start of this new week brings a new term for elected officials in Ada and Canyon counties.

In Ada County, new county commissioners Diana Lachiondo and Kendra Kenyon took the oath of office Monday afternoon.

The Democrats join Republican Rick Visser, who was elected in 2016.

Kenyon is now serving as the commission president.

“With Ada County there's a lot going on,” said Kenyon. “We're really here to work hard for you.  And we know when you went to the polls that you voted new vision, a fresh perspective and you voted for transparency and a really strong work ethic.  And I can tell you that we will not disappoint you.”

Also sworn in Ada County, a new county clerk, Phil McGrane, a new treasurer, Elizabeth Mahn, as well as Coroner Dotti Owens and Assessor Robert McQuade, who won re-election last November.

New and returning Canyon County officials were sworn in Monday morning at the courthouse in Caldwell.

County Clerk Chris Yamamoto swore in returning District 3 Canyon County Commissioner Pam White followed by newly-elected District 1 Commissioner Leslie Van Beek, the new Coroner Jennifer Crawford, returning County Assessor Brian Stender and County Treasurer Tracie Lloyd.
