Nampa woman dies after falling off an Oregon cliff

Amanda Poole and a friend were on their way to Snively Hot Springs when they stopped at a scenic overlook.

BOISE, Idaho — A Nampa woman died after she fell from a cliff near Adrian, Oregon, over the weekend.

Malheur County Sheriff Brian Wolfe says 30-year-old Amanda Poole and a male friend were on their way to Snivley Hot Springs on Saturday night when they decided to stop near a scenic overlook about three miles west of Adrian.

Wolfe says while Poole was looking at the view she lost her footing and fell 60 feet to her death.

It took a Malheur County search and rescue rope team about an hour to reach Poole.

Based on statements from the man and witnesses, the sheriff says foul play is not suspected.
