Minor from Melba dies after two-car crash

Police said the crash happened in Canyon County. A passenger from the other car is in the hospital.

CANYON COUNTY, Idaho — A minor from Melba has died and a woman is in the hospital after a crash on Southside Boulevard and Melmont Road, in Canyon County on Saturday, April 20 at 8:40 p.m.

According to Idaho State Police (ISP), the minor was driving a 1992 Ford F150 pickup headed east on Melmont Road when they did not come to a complete stop and hit a 2012 Toyota Camry headed south on Southside Boulevard. The minor wasn't wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

The Camry was driven by a 44-year-old-man and a 43-year-old woman, also from Melba. The woman was taken to the hospital via ambulance. 

Traffic was blocked for about three hours as crews cleared the road. ISP is investigating the crash.
