Taiwanese man identified as Quinn's Pond drowning victim

The 66-year-old man was paddle boarding Friday when he fell into the water and didn't resurface.

BOISE, Idaho — A man from Taiwan died by drowning Friday in Quinn's Pond, according to the Ada County Coroner's Office. 

He was identified as 66-year-old Chen-Tsung Chiang of Taipei City, Taiwan.

Boise Fire Department (BFD) said a dive team recovered the body at around 5:20 p.m. and performed life-saving measures. He was pronounced dead at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center at 5:44 p.m.

According to BFD, witnesses reported that a 66-year-old man was paddle boarding when he fell into the water and didn't resurface. Boise police officers in the area immediately went into the water but didn't find the man. The Boise Fire Dive Team later arrived and continued the search.
