Idaho State Police investigating deadly crash between pickup, log truck on Highway 41

A man from Coeur d'Alene driving a 2016 Ford 150 pickup drove off the road and into a ditch before coming back onto the road and crashing head-on with a log truck.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Idaho State Police (ISP) are investigating a deadly crash between two trucks that occurred on Highway 41 north of Spirit Lake Thursday morning.

According to ISP, a man from Coeur d'Alene driving a 2016 Ford 150 pickup drove off the road and into a ditch before coming back onto the road and crashing head-on with a log truck. The 48-year-old man from Chewelah driving the log truck had no injuries. 

The driver of the Ford pickup was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The highway was blocked and closed for four hours, but has since reopened. This crash remains under investigation and more information on the crash can be found here.
