The rally, organized by Boise to Palestine, drew several hundred people.

Pro-Palestinian chants were heard through downtown Boise on Saturday, Nov. 4, as several hundred people marched to demand a ceasefire in Gaza.

The groups marched from the steps of the Idaho State Capitol and through downtown Boise, as part of the rally organized by a group called Boise to Palestine

"The assault on the Gaza Strip by Israeli Defense Forces has continued every day for the past three weeks, and people are dying every day," a co-founder of Boise to Palestine said. "Together, [we are] here to say that our state needs to demand that end."

Boise to Palestine was formed in 2021.

"Because of attacks on Gaza, and the homes...that were being forcibly evicted from Palestinians," another group organizer said. "This is our group today, where we've continued with our protests and our demands to end the occupation. In Gaza, 9,000 people have been murdered, and it's all being funded by the by the U.S. And we're here demanding a ceasefire."

The group is also calling for humanitarian aid, investigations into war crimes, freedom for Palestinians in Gaza and for the United States to stop providing military aid to Israel.

"We fund the Israeli government for its defenses. Idaho taxpayers fund that, and it's unacceptable to us," one protestor said. "We're standing here together as Idaho residents to demand a ceasefire, to demand humanitarian aid for Gaza, and to end the occupation of Palestinian lands."

Saturday was Boise to Palestine's second march since Israel and Hamas went to war in October.

"We won't stop until there's a ceasefire," one protestor said. "People should be aware that there's genocide going on - and our money, our tax money is funding all of this. We need to do something. So, we won't stop until a ceasefire and until Palestine is free."
