BOISE, Idaho — The St. Luke's Health System campus in Boise is experiencing some "growing pains," as work continues on the hospital's new buildings and upgrades.

Some lanes of travel will be closed for normal traffic starting Wednesday, May 29, to give construction crews better access to St. Luke's. Officials said the improvements to the medical center will help "meet the health care needs of our growing community."

One eastbound lane of East Fort Street, from 1st Street to where the road turns into Avenue B, will be closed temporarily starting May 29. This will leave one lane for eastbound traffic. Two lanes will be open for westbound traffic.

St. Luke's said a one-block section of 1st Street, between State Street and Jefferson Street, that will be closed to through traffic. This is a necessary closure to allow for contractors to have access to and from the job site.

Patients wanting to use the parking garage at 1st Street and Jefferson Street will need to enter the parking garage from 2nd Street.
