Boise boy dies after being struck by vehicle while riding his bike

A boy is dead after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle.

On April 15 at approximately 7:54 p.m., 6-year-old James Chaffin was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle near East Gowen Road and East Grand Forest Drive in southeast Boise, according to a news release from the Ada County Coroner's Office. He was pronounced dead of blunt force head injuries at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center on Friday, the release said. 

An investigation of the accident is being conducted by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
