House fire in Meridian, no one was hurt and 2 cats were rescued by firefighters

The Meridian Fire Department said the fire happened Sunday evening. The cats were taken to the vet after being rescued and are expected to be ok.

MERIDIAN, Idaho — A house fire in the Paramount subdivision near Rocky Mountain High School started around 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 28. According to the Meridian Fire Department (MFD) no one was hurt but firefighters did rescue two cats that were taken to the vet.

MFD said the fire appeared to start in the garage and spread upwards through the house. The family was able to get out of the house and the cats are expected to be ok.

Eagle Fire, Meridian Police and Ada County Paramedics also were on the scene. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
