Coroner identifies Boise man killed in Fruitland crash

The crash happened on US-95 in Fruitland Monday when the driver in the northbound lanes veered into the southbound lanes, killing Robert Giles of Boise.

FRUITLAND, Idaho — Robert Giles, 53, of Boise, died Monday as a result of a two-vehicle crash on US-95 in Payette County.

At approximately 10 a.m. on May 20, a 55-year-old man from Caldwell driving a 2006 Dodge Durango, was headed north when he drove left of center and hit Giles driving a 2022 Ford Maverick heading south, according to Idaho State Police, (ISP).

The crash happened on US-95 near milepost 63. 

Both drivers were taken to the hospital, where Giles was pronounced dead in the emergency department at approximately 1:12 p.m., according to the Ada County Coroner's Office.

The incident is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
