3 people injured in a head-on crash on Highway 16 near Emmett

Police say the crash happened when a 76-year-old man crossed the center lane of the highway and collided into an oncoming car.

EMMETT, Idaho — Idaho State Police are investigating a head-on crash that happened on Highway 16 at milepost 111 on Sunday afternoon.

Police say the crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, just south of Emmett.

The crash happened when 76-year-old Karl Salskov of Emmett was driving northbound on the highway in a 2005 Chrysler Town and County and crossed the center line an crashed into an oncoming 2004 Mazda MZ3, according to police.

Investigators say the Mazda, which was driven by Aaron Larson, a 37-year-old Boise man, then crashed into a 210 Chevrolet Traverse that was driven by a 39-year-old Brenda Stoner of Meridian.

Lassen was taken by an air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus in Boise, police say. His passenger, 43-year-old Robin Clark of Emmett, and Salskvo were both taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus in Boise.

Idaho State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
