BOISE - The driver of a Porsche Spyder who plowed into a crowd of people at the Boise Spectrum during the Cars and Coffee event in September has been charged with one misdemeanor count of reckless driving.
The Boise City Attorney's Office charged 49-year-old Roy L. Drennon of Eagle on Tuesday, Kimberly Smith, senior manager of the attorney's office's Criminal Division confirmed.
She said the misdemeanor charge was determined to be the most appropriate by the charging attorney after reviewing the case.
Smith said the maximum penalty is up to six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
Drennon's arraignment hasn't been scheduled yet.
According to police, Drennon was leaving the car show and said he gunned his engine as he pulled out of the lot, lost control and slid sideways through a crowd of people gathered on the grass on September 16.
Eleven people were injured. There were no fatalities.
