Looking for Idaho gardening help? Join our “You Can Grow It" Facebook group

Newcomers and longtime Treasure Valley gardeners are sharing yard tips and more in our rapidly growing Facebook community.

BOISE, Idaho — In addition to the "You Can Grow It" segment, hosted by Jim Duthie, and our "You Can Grow It" franchise, KTVB has also created a Facebook group dedicated to gardening enthusiasts throughout the Treasure Valley.

KTVB’s You Can Grow It gardening Facebook group is a place for anyone looking for tips on anything from indoor plants to yard maintenance.

A green thumb is not required to join this group, you just need an interest in greenery or the great outdoors.

We ask that all posts and comments are related to landscaping and gardening, and encourage positive and supportive feedback to other group members.

When posting in the group, be sure to mention what kind of gardening or landscaping you are doing, and where (no address needed; just the general area). Jim Duthie and the KTVB team will answer any questions you may have.

This is just one example of the posts we love to see in the You Can Grow It group. Amanda Davies shared this photo of the garden she has in her backyard, mentioning that right now is the best time for gardening.

You Can Grow It: Idaho gardening with KTVB has 2,138 members. Welcome to KTVB's You Can Grow It gardening Facebook group. This is a place for Idaho...

When asked by a group member why the garden was placed in a raised bed, Davies explained that this method of organization gives her room to sit on the side of the garden bed and continue planting.

For those who prefer an indoor garden, You Can Grow It members offer plenty of tips and tricks to keep your plants healthy. Karen Rigney asked group members for recommendations on shelving and supplies for a greenhouse.

After plenty of feedback, she shared the final product.

Karen Rigney added a new photo.

Maybe you're someone who enjoys gardening, but would rather watch someone else do it. We have you covered there as well.

KTVB's "You Can Grow It" segment is available on our website and our YouTube channel. We also have a YouTube playlist full of gardening tips posted below.

One of our favorite segments discusses how to care for your garden as it transitions from winter to spring.
