Vegas Golden Knights spend time with hockey fans in Boise

Members of the National Hockey League's newest team visited Idaho Ice World on Tuesday.

The National Hockey League's newest team is reaching out to fans here in Idaho.

Members of the Vegas Golden Knights visited Idaho Ice World in Boise on Tuesday as part of the second annual Vegas Golden Knights’ road trip.

Defenseman Jon Merrill, play-by-play announcer Dave Goucher and the Golden Knights mascot participated in meet-and-greets, as well as a series of hockey clinics.

"Interact with kids, they were able to have some fun, you know, see what the Golden Knights are all about. Chance our mascot is here as well, so he got to do hugs and skate with everyone too," said Kim Frank, vice president of marketing and community relations.

Boise is considered part of the "extended market area" for the Golden Knights.

The road trip started Monday in Reno and continues Thursday in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Friday in Salt Lake City.
