BOISE — The Boise State football team revealed their updated depth chart prior to their season-opener at Troy on Saturday. Here are a few takeaways:
- There is no true freshman currently listed on the depth chart, however, coaches have acknowledged both wide receiver Khalil Shakir and running back Andrew Van Buren as first-year players that could see immediate playing time.
- Sophomore wide receiver CT Thomas is the only offensive player listed as a starter that has yet to start a college football game.
- Senior wide receiver A.J. Richardson has played in more games (40) than any other Broncos.
- Senior quarterback Brett Rypien has 36 career starts, the most among all active Boise State players.
- The starters on defense have a combined 129 career starts between them. Sophomore nickel Kekaula Kaniho (5) and sophomore linebacker Riley Whimpey (0) are the only players listed at the top of the depth chart at their respective positions that have less than 10 career starts on defense.
