Boise State lands former Arizona center, 4-star recruit Dylan Anderson

The 7-foot center held offers from Gonzaga, Kansas, North Carolina and others coming out of high school as a two-time Gatorade Arizona Player of the Year.

BOISE, Idaho — Boise State men's basketball landed former Arizona big man Dylan Anderson out of the transfer portal on Thursday, its second addition in as many days.

The 7-foot, 240-pound center played in 15 games as a true freshman before redshirting last season. Anderson held offers from Gonzaga, Kansas, Michigan, North Carolina and others coming out of high school as a four-star recruit.

Anderson is a big get for the Broncos – literally – with three years of eligibility remaining. Boise State now has two available scholarships after Wednesday's addition of first team NAIA All-American forward Javan Buchanan and Anderson.

The Gilbert native is one of five athletes to ever be named a two-time Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year in Arizona. Of the previous four hoopers to win the award multiple times, two scored more than 1,400 points in college, and the other two were selected in the NBA Draft after their freshman season.

Anderson averaged 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two of Arizona's exhibition games before redshirting during the 2023-2024 campaign. He averaged 1.4 points and shot 41.2% from the floor as a true freshman during the 2022-2023 season.

As a prep senior, Anderson averaged 13 points, 11 rebounds and a pair of blocks per outing. He helped Gilbert Perry High School roll to a 25-5 record and its first state title in boys basketball.

He averaged 17.1 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game as a junior. 247Sports ranked Anderson as the No. 95 recruit in the nation and No. 17 center in the class of 2022. He also held offers from Arizona State, Cal and Creighton.
