BOISE, Idaho — Two new teams climbed into the top spots in their classification in Tuesday's Idaho high school football state media poll, marking the fourth consecutive week with a new No. 1-ranked squad.
Homedale returned to the 4A throne ahead of Week 8 after taking down previously top-ranked Fruitland in a 29-28 thriller last week. The Grizzlies, who dropped to No. 3, host fifth-ranked Weiser on Friday night.
Carey made its debut at No. 1 on Tuesday after Dietrich spent the entire season atop the 1A rankings. The Panthers rolled to a 54-6 win over the Blue Devils to improve to 6-1 on the season last week.
The 6A rankings remain the same prior to the final week of regular season play in the Southern Idaho Conference. No. 1 Rocky Mountain and No. 2 Eagle face tough tests Friday in Timberline and Borah respectively.
