BOISE, Idaho — The United States Women's National Team faced off against vaunted rival England in a semi-final match in the World Cup on Tuesday. Dozens of people took a long lunch break to pack into a Boise pub to watch the match.
The US went on to win the match 2-1, which created an electric atmosphere inside the Double Tap Pub in downtown Boise for the American Outlaws, the official US soccer supporters' group.
The Outlaws have a chapter in Boise and Jake London, the president of the chapter, says it's not about knowing the game of soccer, but rather supporting your country.
"Anytime our national team is playing, whether it's the Olympics that the US is in the Olympics, World Cup, you get the US basketball team playing, you should care," London said. "It's your country. It's a patriotic thing to do."
What's been dubbed "Tour de Four," in reference to the women's team seeking to claim their fourth World Cup title, concludes Sunday at 9 a.m. in the World Cup final.
