WASHINGTON — Adam Harrison, one of three sons of reality TV show “Pawn Stars” celebrity Richard “Rick” Harrison, died from a fentanyl overdose, according to his father. He was 39.

A representative for the family confirmed Friday to the Las Vegas Review-Journal that Adam Harrison's death was believed to be from an overdose.

“Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam. We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss,” a statement on behalf of the family said.

On Monday, Harrison, through a representative, told TMZ Adam's cause of death was from overdosing on fentanyl

"Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose. The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously.  It seems it is just flowing over the borders and nothing is being done about it. We must do better," the statement said.

TMZ was first to report on Adam Harrison's death. The outlet also reported that the Las Vegas Metro Police Department is investigating the case.

Rick Harrison posted a tribute Friday night on Instagram and Facebook to his son: "You will always be in my heart. I love you Adam."
