Winter Garden aGlow at the Idaho Botanical Gardens is open to the public during the Thanksgiving holiday.

BOISE, Idaho — An annual Christmas event for Treasure Valley residents opens on Nov. 23 and will feature new attractions.

The Idaho Botanical Garden is all set for Winter Garden aGlow 2023, located in Boise. The transformation of the Garden takes shape as a Gingerbread Wonderland for the annual holiday light fundraiser. Some of the longstanding attractions have gotten bigger, brighter makeovers and there are several new displays in the Garden space as well, making sure there's plenty to see at this holiday event.

"We're introducing these spaces with a larger density and diversity of lights, but maintaining that original Winter Garden aGlow feel that the community enjoys each year," said Eric Walle, the Idaho Botanical Garden's Events Director, "and we're always going to be hand wrapping these lights in our signature style."

A notable addition, said the news release, is the Kid's Gingerbread House. KB Homes built an on-site, life-sized gingerbread house for kids to enjoy. This attraction will be located above the Children's Adventure Garden. Around the corner from that, is the 16 gingerbread houses made by the community.

An attraction for adults has also been set up near the entrance to the Lewis and Clark Garden, the new Snow Globe Bar. The news release states the pop-up bar will feature holiday-themed drinks served against a cutout of the Boise skyline.

Other features within Winter Garden aGlow include Candy Cane Forest, Luminaria Swirl, Waterfall Way, and Gum Drop Sea. Each space will combine gingerbread-inspired styles with imaginative placement, said the release.
