Not pulling the wool over your eyes: Yearly crossing in Idaho brings thousands of sheep, hundreds of onlookers

Ewe have to see it to believe it. The yearly sheep crossing at Highway 55 is a massive running of the wools.

EAGLE, Idaho — The flock was back on the block. Sheep rancher Frank Shirts brought his flock of sheep across Highway 55 at Beacon Light in Eagle on Saturday, April 20 at 9 a.m.

This year, drone footage from the Idaho Rangeland Resources Commission and "Life on the Range" shows the event saw thousands of sheep, of course, and hundreds of onlookers.

Every year in Idaho, through the spring and summer, ranchers move their sheep up into the Boise National Forest. For drivers who are unaware of the crossing it can be quite a sight, and a headache.

However, for sheepish fans, the yearly moving of the flock is a delightful reminder that spring is here.
