A sad update on the beloved bear named Cinder -- the bear whose paws were badly burned in a wildfire four years ago and was brought to Idaho to recover.
According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Cinder was shot by a hunter in October of 2017.
They made the discovery after Cinder's radio transmitting collar stopped working.

This year officials hiked to Cinder's den to check on her to see if she was OK, but unfortunately, when they got there they only found cinder's skeletal remains.
Cinder was rescued in July of 2014 from Washington's Carlton Complex Fire.
She went through recovery at Idaho Black Bear Rehabilitation in Garden City before she was released in 2015.
