BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has now opened the comment period for a series of plans that will prioritize award funding and water infrastructure plans.

An informational meeting is scheduled for May 7 at 11 a.m. via Microsoft Teams. Registration is required for this, and can be done here. Written comments will be accepted through May 28 at 5 p.m. Written comment can be submitted on their website here, or by mail or email to:

  • State Drinking Water and Clean Water State Revolving Fund Intended Use Plan (IUP): priority lists for loans, emerging contaminants and lead service line inventory projects
  • State Drinking Water Planning Grant Priority List
  • State Wastewater Planning Grant Priority List

The documents, once approved and finalized, will tell the state how to spend funding for the fiscal year of 2025.

The DEQ will award grants and loans to "shovel ready" projects, ranked highest on the priority list.

To see the priority lists and intended use plan, visit the DEQ's state office in Boise, DEQ's regional offices, and on the DEQ's Public Comments Opportunities page.

Printed copies of the documents are available at each regional office by request:
