Old KTVB sets to get some good use at area schools

Capital High asked if our desk needed a new home. It did.

BOISE, Idaho — If you haven't heard, KTVB is getting a brand new studio.

While it's exciting for us, it's also exciting to know that our old set is getting some good use.

We donated our weather center to Northwest Nazarene University.

Our interview set is going to Riverglen Junior High School.

And our desk is going to Capital High School.

"Getting the set means a lot to us," said Capital High broadcast teacher Gabe Garcia.  "Our goal is to continue the legacy of this set and continue to produce really high-quality content for our school, our district and the community."

Capital High’s broadcasting class KCTV reached out to KTVB asking if the desk needed a new home.

"As a video broadcasting class, the whole goal is to teach these kids what it's like to work in the field and what industry experience truly is," said Garcia.

The old Capital High set will now be used by students at Riverglen -- one of Capital's feeder schools.

Mr. Garcia believes this will also help establish Riverglen's video broadcasting program.
