Lovers of local craft beer and wines have a new reason to love the Boise Bench.

As Craft Brewers of Boise says on its website, the focus is on local, local, local at its new digs at 420 N. Orchard St., and they're celebrating their grand-opening celebration starting Friday, December 28, and Saturday, December 29.

Craft Brewers claims to have the largest selection of craft beers from Idaho, including limited-edition specialty beers and small-batch selections from their favorite breweries. They're also pouring and selling bottles of local wine and ciders.

And if you're into crafting your own suds, they've got your home-brewing needs taken care of too. They say in addition to bringing in hops from local farms, they'll work with growers in Oregon and Washington to supply strains that aren't in Idaho.

New and experienced home brewers will also have access to books on the craft, and brewing seminars are also planned.

During their grand-opening celebration, Craft Brewers is offering a free growler glass with the purchase of the beer or wine. Yelp check-ins get 10 percent off in the taproom and T-shirts are 12 bucks. And to soak up the suds, Off the Grid Pizza will be serving up slices after 4 p.m. Friday.

Craft Brewers' grand opening heralds another reason for beer lovers in this area of the Bench to celebrate as of late. CopenRoss Growlers opened near Orchard and Overland Road last March and also features an extensive selection of rotating taps - locally and from throughout Idaho.
