Anchor Shirah Matsuzawa leaving KTVB

The talented anchor, producer and reporter has been with the station since 2018.

BOISE, Idaho — Anchor, producer and reporter Shirah Matsuzawa is moving on from KTVB for an opportunity in Seattle at Fox 13 News. The Idaho's News Channel 7 team will miss her laugh, sunny disposition, incredible work ethic, and compelling storytelling.

Matsuzawa began her on-air career in 2018 when she came home to the Treasure Valley for as a multi-skilled journalist after producing for NBC Los Angeles.

She was promoted to the desk as a weekend anchor, producer and reporter in 2021. In 2022, Matsuzawa was promoted once again, this time adding the News at Four. Through the years, she has also worked on KTVB's News at Six, as well as anchoring and producing the News at Ten on Fridays and Saturdays.

In her nearly six years at KTVB, Matsuzawa contributed some of our most viral stories through her reporting. Her featured and in-depth content regularly resonates with audiences, and she’s been honored with quite a few awards for it.

She was a huge part of the Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell coverage throughout the case and particularly during Vallow's trial with daily live reporting. She has also been solo producing the "Daily Update" on KTVB’s Instagram account for several years and has been part of KTVB's "Innovative Educator" team.

Her last newscasts at KTVB will be on Saturday, Mar. 2.
