Lewiston Police: Remains found near Memorial Bridge pedestrian walk are human

The Lewiston Police Department has confirmed that the remains found in North Lewiston are human.

LEWISTON, Idaho — The City of Lewiston Police Department (CLPD) has confirmed that the remains found in North Lewiston near Memorial Bridge pedestrian walk
on Wednesday are human.

In a press release, police said a biological anthropologist was called in to assist with the investigation. That anthropologist says there was nothing "medicolegal" found and that the remains are believed to be ancestral.

Police say this is still an active investigation. Officers will be releasing more information as it becomes available.
