You can start your new year off right by helping-out ill Idahoans and granting their wishes by participating in the Gebert-Arbaugh Polar Bear Challenge! The event is January 6th (moved from January 1st in previous years.) The goal, to raise funds for Make-A-Wish. How you may ask? Show-up on January 6th at Lukey Peak Reservoir and jump into the ice cold water! (Hence the name, ‘Polar Bear Challenge.’) For years, KTVB’s very own beloved meteorologist Larry Gebert championed this event. When Larry unexpectedly passed, the event honored Larry by including his last name in the official title. Larry would often kick-off the challenge by waterskiing and cueing others to run into the water! It was a sight to behold! If you want to raise funds for Make-A-Wish and help out Idahoans in need, watch this interview with Idaho Today’s Mellisa Paul and Cae Odell of Make-A-Wish.
