Update: ISP responds to 28 crashes involving 63 vehicles on I-84 near Mountain Home

On social media, Idaho State Police said the crashes happened around 5 a.m. and it was cleared around 11 a.m.

BOISE, Idaho — Idaho State Police (ISP) responded to 28 crashes involving 63 vehicles during Monday morning's winter snowstorm, resulting in mass lane closures along the Interstate 84 (I-84) corridor.

ISP said the crashes happened in just a 6-hour span, from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m.

According to ISP's social media, 11 crashes involving 33 vehicles happened within one mile of each other. The drivers in between those crashes were stuck until the roads were cleared.

Around 11 a.m., Idaho Transportation Department's 511 traffic-tracker marked the I-84 westbound lanes as having reopened after multiple crashes near the Elmore County line caused officials to close them.

Around 10:15 a.m., The Idaho Transportation Department said on social media that westbound I-84 between Mountain Home and Boise had closed due to "multiple collisions." Traffic was being diverted from I-84 off the interstate.

It is unknown if there were any injuries in the crash. KTVB reached out to officials for more information.
