Jerome County fatal crash leaves one dead

A 36-year-old driver of a Subaru Crosstrek crossed the center line, causing a head-on collision.

JEROME, Idaho — Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating a fatal car crash that happened on Feb. 21 in Jerome County.

A 36-year-old man driving a Subaru Crosstrek was going westbound on 700 N, when the car crossed the center line, hitting the 30-year-old driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck going eastbound. It was a head-on collision. 

The driver of the Subaru succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the pickup truck was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to a local hospital through an air ambulance. 

The roadway was blocked for about two and a half hours to clear the scene and have first responders investigate.
