Boise man dies after crashing into canal in Canyon County

Police said the man drove off the right shoulder of Madison Road and crashed into a canal. He died at the scene of the crash Wednesday morning.

BOISE, Idaho — A man from Boise died Wednesday morning after he drove off the road and crashed into a canal in Canyon County, according to Idaho State Police (ISP).

Police said the 34-year-old man was driving north on Madison Road in a 2000 Honda Accord when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and crashed into the canal. The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, just north of Linden Road.

The man died at the scene of the crash, ISP said. 

Madison Road was blocked for roughly three hours following the crash for first responders to clear the scene.

The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
