Lewiston Police locate double homicide suspect in Oregon

Officials with The Lewiston Police Department said they were investigating after an altercation left two people dead and one injured.

LEWISTON, Idaho—The Lewiston Police Department said the double homicide suspect they were searching for was located in Umatilla, Oregon Tuesday morning.

LPD officials said the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

LPD officers they were searching for the suspect, Richard Carlin after an altercation left two people dead and one severely injured at a home in Lewiston Tuesday morning.

Officials with The Lewiston Police Department said they were investigating a homicide on the 600 block of Preston.

LPD authorities said officers responded to the home just after 5:00 a.m. and discovered two deceased subjects. They reported a third person was being treated at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center with a stab wound in the back.

LPD officials identified the 73-year-old as a person of interest.

Law enforcement said they were not sure of Carlin’s location at the time, but he could be driving a red, 1996 Toyota Corolla.

LPD authorities warned that Carlin was armed and dangerous and that if his vehicle were located not to approach him.
