Idaho Air National Guard addressing loud jets

If the skies above Boise have seemed a little loud lately, the Idaho Air National Guard says that's due to some Navy F-18's landing out at the airport.

Major Chris Borders says the Navy F-18's are traveling military jets that stop at Gowen Field to be serviced.

Borders added that when the pilots land, many times the Idaho Air National Guard doesn't know they're coming until the last minute.

They are working to change that and let pilots know to keep it down over Boise.

“What we're trying to do now is get is basically verbiage out immediately, informing all pilots coming here of the noise abatement procedures that are required,” said Borders.

Borders says they want to support their sister services, but he says they too are a part of the community and are also concerned about noise levels.
