Police searching for suspect in Caldwell bank robbery

According to authorities, the robber targeted an Idaho Central Credit Union in Caldwell.

CALDWELL, Idaho — Police are working to identify and apprehend a bank robber who targeted an Idaho Central Credit Union in Caldwell Monday morning. 

The robbery happened at the ICCU branch on Cleveland Boulevard at about 9 a.m.

According to Caldwell Police, a man walked into the bank and handed a clerk a note demanding money. Employees at the bank handed over a small bundle of cash, which the man took and walked out. 

The man did not display a weapon, police say, and it is not clear whether he was armed.

Witnesses did not see a vehicle, and it is unknown which direction the robber headed, police say.

"When we arrived, the suspect male had already fled," Caldwell Sgt. Myron Kershaw said. "We are still investigating and processing evidence." 

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30's, with long hair in a ponytail and a scruffy short beard. Police say he was wearing a white shirt, khaki pants and a black baseball cap.
