Nampa man pleads guilty to selling fentanyl to a coworker who later died of an overdose

37-year-old Tanner Lee Goforth sold a coworker 10 fentanyl pills. The victim later died from an overdose.

BOISE, Idaho — A Nampa man pleaded guilty to the distribution of fentanyl on Thursday after selling the drug to a co-worker who overdosed and died.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said in a news release on May 17, 2022, that 37-year-old Tanner Lee Goforth sold the victim 10 fentanyl pills. The victim went home, and when he took the pill, he died almost immediately.

The new release states the victim's girlfriend found him about half an hour later, called 911, and began CPR. When Nampa first responders arrived, they gave the victim Narcan and tried to resuscitate him but were unsuccessful. 

Goforth's sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 30, 2024.
