COEUR D'ALENE – A man accused of robbing two banks in Ontario and another in Idaho has pleaded guilty to bank robbery.
U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson said 35-year-old Ricky Allen Fisher entered the guilty plea today in federal court in Coeur d'Alene.
Fisher, who is most recently from Orlando, Florida, served 77 months in prison for a 2007 bank robbery conviction. He was released from federal prison on May 6, 2014, and took a bus to Boise, Idaho. Three days later he robbed a Chase Bank in Ontario, Oregon, of $1,600.
Five days later he robbed a U.S. Bank in Ontario and fled with $1,334.
Prosecutors say on May 16, 2014, Fisher robbed the U.S. Bank in Cottonwood, Idaho, and took $2,324.
Fisher was driven to each bank by 19-year-old Jennifer Balfe. She pleaded guilty last month and was sentenced to 27 months in prison.
The pair was arrested on May 18 at a Lewiston motel after they were seen spending a lot of money at a local casino.
Fisher will be sentenced on March 3, 2015. He faces up to 20 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine. Fisher has also been ordered to pay restitution to each of the banks.
