Law enforcement was able to identify and interview the man, and have cleared him of any wrongdoing.

Police had asked for the public's help identifying the man after he approached a child and tried to take her hand at West Park off of Lone Star Road Thursday afternoon. Authorities released a description of the man, along with his van.

The department said response from citizens helped them resolve the case. The man they had sought was "very cooperative" with the investigation, police say.

"It is important to remember that law enforcement conducts a thorough investigation and does not make assumptions about anyone. We rely on facts to determine the outcome," Nampa Police wrote in a release.

"It is just as important for the Nampa Police Department to identify and apprehend individuals who break the law as it is for us to ensure people are treated fairly and cleared of any wrongdoing."
